The Nageshwarnath Temple is situated in Ram Ki Paidi, Ayodhya. According to legend, Kush, the son of Rama, founded this temple. The story goes that while Kush was bathing in the Saryu river, he misplaced his armlet. A Nag-Kanya found it and, being smitten by him, returned it. Notably, she was a dedicated devotee of Shiva. In her honor, Kush built this temple. Remarkably, the temple maintained its grandeur until the era of Vikramaditya. The current structure dates back to 1750 and was constructed by Naval Rai, a minister of Safdar Jung. The temple becomes a hive of activity during the Shivratri festival, especially the notable Shiv Barat procession. During Mahashivratri, the temple welcomes countless devotees.
